From Ace India to Facilities Management Success: The Journey of Arun Kumar
Arun Kumar, a dynamic Facilities Manager, began his professional journey with Ace India Training and Services Pvt Ltd, where he completed his specialized training in HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing in 2013. Armed with this solid technical foundation, Arun quickly advanced through the ranks of facilities management, demonstrating exceptional leadership, technical proficiency, and a passion for creating efficient, safe, and sustainable environments.
After his time at Ace India, Arun’s career took off as he applied his skills across prestigious projects and organizations in the UAE. Starting as an HVAC Engineer at SLVR Airconditioning Systems in Bangalore, India, he moved to Dubai, where he held several key roles, including Fire Protection Engineer at Bright Concept Detection and Protection Systems. Here, he honed his expertise in maintaining and executing fire protection systems for large residential and commercial projects. His ability to oversee both the technical and safety aspects of facilities management earned him rapid recognition.
As a Facilities Engineer and later Operations Engineer at Fawaz Facilities Management, Arun managed complex Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), ensuring compliance with safety standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). His dedication and leadership were instrumental in handling major FM contracts in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, helping shape the efficient operations of various buildings under his supervision.
Arun’s thirst for growth led him to GBH International Facilities Management, where he played a pivotal role in developing both B2B and B2C FM models. His innovative mindset drove the creation of a home maintenance mobile app, contributing to a seamless customer experience and operational efficiency.
However, it was at Engie Solutions, Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, that Arun’s career reached new heights. As a Technical Consultant, he led the construction to FM transition, managed energy optimization, and contributed to Masdar City’s LEED O&M Certification process. His work ensured the smooth operation of one of the most sustainable urban developments in the world, while also enhancing energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Currently, as a Facilities Manager at Farnek Services LLC – EXPO City Dubai, Arun continues to excel, managing ad hoc projects, technical scopes, and crucial events like COP28. His ability to balance technical challenges with operational efficiency has made him an indispensable part of the city’s operations.
